The latest news in terms of super luxury yachts is record-breaking and also Italian: it is Somnio, the largest and most beautiful yacht in the world, 222 meters long and with a gross tonnage of 33,500 tons, under construction in Norway by VARD (Norway), a company of Fincantieri. We have already talked about it, but now the project is becoming more and more concrete as it is currently being built in Italy. The super luxury yacht will be launched in 2024 to sail among the most spectacular seas of the four corners of the planet with the 39 wealthy owners (and their travel companions) of the equally exclusive apartments on board.
The sense of the project is to offer the privacy of a private yacht, but - in Somnio's words - "with the service and offerings found only in the best hotels". That's why two of the most renowned architecture and design firms - Winch Design from the United Kingdom and Tillberg Design from Sweden - have worked on a project developed over a period of 18 months and costing €500 million.
The "apartments" will be customizable down to the smallest details: starting from €9 million for a basic project that can be enriched with whatever one desires, from gyms to libraries, to spas. They will be actual floating villas where each owner will also have a concierge at their disposal: one of the many pluses of a vacation aboard Somnio. Onboard there will also be luxury restaurants and bars, a wine cellar for 10 thousand bottles with a tasting room, a beach club with water sports facilities, a bow lounge to watch the port entrance from the front row. Additionally, top-notch medical care will be offered.
