Cannes Yachting Festival 2022
The Cannes Yachting Festival returns from 6 to 11 September to present, as usual for the past 45 years, the best of the international offer of motor boats and sailboats, monohulls or multihulls. The inaugural event of the boating season as well as the largest show on the water in Europe, the Cannes Yachting Festival will be set up from the Vieux Port to Port Canto, or from one end of the famous Croisette to the French capital of boating.
Established in 1977, the Cannes Yachting Festival has over time become an unmissable event in luxury boating, reaching staggering numbers: last year there were 620 boats present and almost 600 exhibitors, in an eclectic selection that attracted in the French coastal town the main players in yachting from all over the world, gathered to open the nautical season and exhibit their news and world premieres.
The Environments of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022
As every year, the Cannes Yachting festival will develop in different environments, each dedicated to a specific category. The Vieux Port is one of the oldest ports on the blue coast and will host about 490 motor boats from 5 to 45 meters in length, 80 of which, under 10 meters, will be exposed ashore.
The most luxurious international shipyards will have their own space for boats over 22 meters at the Jetée, in addition, thirty motor yachts over 24 meters will be moored at the Super Yachts Extension (SYE), an extension of the port consisting of three floating barges , set up on the occasion of the show.
On the opposite side of the SYE we find the Quai Max Laubeuf, a marina that will host about twenty motor catamarans up to 24 meters in length and 12 in width, together with 40 small monohulls. On land there will be another 60 small rigid and semi-rigid motor boats, as well as a space dedicated to outboard and inboard engines.
The new generation motor boats and luxurious daily boats will find their space along the Quai Saint-Pierre, along with some mid-sized open and flybridge.
Other motor boats up to 20 meters will be arranged in increasing order of length along the Pantiero, where we will find in front of more than 60 semi-rigid from 10 to 17 meters and an area dedicated to about fifteen hybrid and electric boats. On land you will find the shipyards and the village of nautical equipment and accessories, which is spread over more than 4600 square meters.
The Palais des Festival is dedicated to a wide range of luxury operators: shipyards, architects and designers, interior fittings, prêt-à-porter, accessories, tourist institutions, marinas, service companies (financing, banks, insurance, etc.) and, outside, the Tender and Toys spaces. The handcrafted objects of renowned or more reserved brands will instead be exhibited at the Luxury Gallery, located inside the Palais.
The other major exhibition area of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 is the Port Canto, second port of Cannes, located on the other side of the Croisette and divided into three sectors.
The Vela space was created in 2019 and is now the world's largest water showcase dedicated to new sailing ships. Developed on 4000 thousand square meters of wide quays, in order to increase the comfort of visitors, it will host 115 monohulls and multihulls from 10 to 28 meters. At the center of this space, we find the Innovation Village, a space present since last year and dedicated to start-ups that share the same values of support and development of the sea economy.
