… 33 years after its first edition, here is the great return!
The Motorboat Association and Assonautica Venezia are still together for another challenge: to bring the historic Venice-Montecarlo motorboat race back to 33 from the first edition. Venice - Montecarlo was among the most prestigious and toughest races in the history of motor boating and was considered a true offshore endurance race. This event took place for the first time in 1990. "The Venice-Montecarlo is a story in the history of powerboating, a brand that immediately recalls the excellence of Italy", says Giovanni Malagò President of Coni. Fabrizio Giugiaro called it «a unique event that has always been a trend. A historic brand that attracts competition and creativity, which is why I wanted to try my hand for the first time by going from cars to boating, designing my boat ».
The protagonists of this great return are the multiple champion twice national gold medal for sporting valor Giampaolo Montavoci, President of the Offshore Commission of the Italian Motorboat Federation as well as of the Venice Motorboat Association and Marino Masiero President of Assonautica Venezia, National Vice President of Italian Assonautica and nautical entrepreneur : "In the wake of the success that motor boating is enjoying a little all over the world, but in particular in Italy with hundreds of pilots coming from all over to participate in the two historic races, the Pavia - Venice and the 100 Miglia del Lario takes place on Lake Como, we got the ok from the President of the Organizing Committee Fiorella de Septis, responsible for the brand, to organize the Venice-Montecarlo »affirm the two presidents.
"We plan to register at least 100 boats at the start, but given the organizational and logistical difficulties that unfold on 8000 km of coastline, we need a team of about 500 people including operational, technical and federal personnel, as well as a first year test."
