With solar technology you can travel around the world without refueling. This is supported by the project concerning TRIVAL . Equipped with the innovative VETROsail technology, a mega-yacht combines the most advanced wind energy with solar films so that, for the first time, unlimited range can be achieved.
With 30 MWh of energy storage, a 6000 kW electric propulsion system and up to 300 kW of power generation, TRIVAL can travel at speeds in excess of 50 knots, well in excess of any sailing vessel, or travel worldwide far beyond any traditional fossil fuel powered seagoing vessel.
The wind energy is distributed through 4 retractable VETROsails where two central sails contain three VETAR 15 wind turbines each, while two lateral ones contain two VETAR 15 wind turbines each, for a total of 150 kW of installed wind energy.
This would not be possible using conventional wind turbines as they would be too large for the same power.
Solar energy is implemented through efficient thin-film solar panels which are light in weight and offer better energy production in a shady and cloudy environment than traditional photovoltaics.
The TRIVAL geometry is that of the trimaran which gives it unprecedented stability and safety on the high seas, as well as the most optimal configuration to achieve maximum speed with minimum resistance. With the compartmentalized design, advanced materials and increased buoyancy, she will be one of the safest, fastest and most advanced vessels ever designed.
By design, she features the most advanced comforts from state-of-the-art navigation, virtually unlimited water supplies (vacuum desalination system) and the latest interior design to suit your taste.
