Opac has developed an innovative retractable roof for the first model in the InFYnito range by Ferretti Yachts. On board the InFYnito 90, there is a masterpiece of engineering made of glass slats created in collaboration with Ferretti's designers, which harmoniously blends with the yacht's lines.
How Opac's hard top works
The shape of the roof recalls that of a diamond and is closely linked to the overall design of the boat. Despite having a high level of technology inside, the roof integrates perfectly with the yacht, and the choice to use glass makes the outdoor space both more protected and brighter at the same time.
The structure, made up of 16 different crystal slats set in aluminum, covers an area of about 10 square meters and is designed to offer flexibility and comfort. By adjusting the rotation of the slats, sunlight and air intake can be managed, while a film filters out infrared rays, ensuring thermal insulation. Particular attention has been paid to both the design and functionality of the roof. A central longitudinal beam, almost four meters long, houses the slat movement mechanism, ensuring a seamless experience for passengers.
The slatted hardtop installed on the Ferretti InFYnito 90 yacht, presented at the last Cannes Boat Show, recently also caught the attention of the judges of the "Boat International Design and Innovation Awards 2024", earning the prestigious award in the Outstanding Lifestyle Feature category.
Among the distinctive elements that convinced the judges is the "All Season Terrace", a covered space at the bow with a 360-degree panoramic view, a terrace, illuminated and detailed, that can be transformed into a solarium thanks to Opac's innovative retractable roof.
