NEWS,

Shark shaped yacht!

Coming this year!

At 97 feet long, the elegant vessel gives the aquatic predator a run for its money.

The sight of a dorsal fin cutting through the ocean is almost always an unwelcome sight—after all, we've seen what happened in Jaws. But a new yacht in the shape of a shark from Alpha Custom Yachts lets you reclaim some of that fear by channeling the animal's more menacing qualities into a fun activity: boating. Called Squalo Trenta, Alpha's newest semi-custom yacht was designed to mimic the silhouette of one of the ocean's most feared predators, shares Robb Report. The boat's name is a direct reference to its prominent design elements: Squalo means shark in Italian, and Trenta (meaning 30) alludes to the yacht's 30-metre (or 98-foot) length.

Unlike a turtle-shaped yacht that debuted in November, the shark-shaped yacht isn't an exact representation of the animal. Instead it channels the essence of the beast - it's massive, elegant, powerful, and cuts through water with ease. Italian yacht design studio Roberto Curtó Design was responsible for the exterior styling, interior and layout. Massimo Verme took care of the naval architecture.

Although its facade is imposing, the interiors are comforting. Inside, three expansive decks host multiple entertainment options including an outdoor lounge pool, bar, wine cooler and large televisions. The vessels can be fitted with four or five bedrooms, depending on the owner's preference, as well as two crew cabins. Other customization options include exterior color (although gray is the most shark-like, buyers could also choose black, red or white) and engine model. Depending on the latter, the Shark planes at top speeds of 15 knots or 16.5 knots and cruises at 13.5 knots or 15.5 knots.

According to Robb Report, three Squalo Trenta are already in production and will be delivered in late 2023. The boats have been highly anticipated since the concept made headlines – no pun intended – in 2022, taking home the 2022 International Yacht & Aviation Awards' top prize for a concept under 40 meters and was shortlisted for the interior design award of the same competition.

Notes: The semi-customizable yacht is available in grey, black, white or red. All photos: copyrights of Alpha Custom Yachts
