What are the most popular motor catamarans today?

Let's discover them together

Straight to the point! What are the most popular motor catamarans today?

In first place in the rankings on the web we find the Leopard 46 Powercat, a compact and simple choice which certainly does not give up on maximum style. This boat, built by the historic Robertson and Caine shipyard in Cape Town, is aesthetically characterized by simple and almost minimalist lines. No excessive hems or style exaggerations; the design here responds exclusively to the classic canons of the nautical tradition, and the result could not be better than this. Furthermore, this hull is available in a 3 or 4 cabin layout and is equipped with two 250 horsepower Yanmars, which can be upgraded to 320 or 370 horsepower.

In second place is Fountaine Pajot Power 67, exaggerated in size but certainly not in nature. Refined and elegant… Fountaine Pajot Power 67, a large catamaran, very large but at the same time also elegant and super refined. The "luxury's ultimate expression" as it is defined by its own shipyard which is essentially proposed for large cruising and long navigation. In this case the catamaran in question is available in two different versions: Lounge Maestro and Classic Maestro; which differ in the positioning of the galley, respectively below deck or in the saloon. As far as the engine is concerned, however, here there are two 300 or 480 horsepower engines and a 4,000-litre tank.

To complete the podium we have Silent Yachts 60, the motor catamaran that uses solar energy!

In fact, it is a boat capable of using solar energy for its movement thanks to the presence of a "solar park" installed on the top of the boat (a total of 42 solar panels of 17 kWp). This guarantees a maximum of 100 nautical miles, after which two 340kw electric motors with 286kWh batteries come into action.

And you???… Which do you prefer?
